the MGM Grand is one of the best known and most popular hotels on the Strip. It
is also home of one of the most popular exhibits.
You’ve seen the show, who hasn’t? The enormously popular TV show CSI had a
number of spin offs, but the original and best was filmed and located right here
in Sin City. Now you have a chance to test your own CSI skills. It is a great
way to test your science and critical thinking skills and Sherlock Holmes your
way through 3 crime scenes and 15 suspects.
This exhibit is a hands on experience and is even responsible for inspiring a
number of visitors to actually pursue a career in this field according to Ava
Bahnam, marketing manager for CSI: The Experience.
Upon entering the crime scenes you are provided an investigation sheet to
record your observations. Think a giant life-size game of clue… well except you
can’t ask the suspect had the candlestick in the library.
Along with being interactive the exhibit takes you through a number of
investigative steps including fingerprinting and DNA analysis. It is a very
unique experience, unlike anything else on the Strip. Once the exhibit is
complete you get mementos of your investigation including a copy of your
investigation sheet so that you can always remember the experience. There is a
gift shop as well where you can purchase a number of CSI related items.
This exhibit is for 12 years and older only. It costs $23/ person. It runs
every 10 minutes from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. with final admittance at 9 p.m. The
whole experience lasts 60 to 90 minutes – meaning by Las Vegas Strip standards
you are really getting your money’s worth. 175 experts spent 1,180 research
hours on the exhibit.
