Fitzgeralds Hotel Casino has been a staple of the Downtown Las Vegas area for years. It is located right on Fremont Street, and is in the middle of all of the exciting action of Downtown and is identified by the giant letter “F” for Fitzgeralds within a clover. While from the outside it seems relatively small, Fitzgeralds is the only Downtown hotel with two floor dedicated to gambling with a total of 42,000 square feet. They have 940 slot machines and 29 table games. They are also the only casino in Nevada with Pai Gow Mania, a favorite for many. Fitzgeralds has an Irish theme, as the name would imply, and is known for friendly and attentive service.
Fitzgeralds is an older casino that has benefited from the recent renovations throughout the Downtown area. It is busy on summer weekends, holidays, and special events. This is a great place to stay for anyone who loves the Downtown area, and who wants to save money compared to Strip prices and usually hosts more of a “party” crowd.
Booking ahead is always recommended, but rooms are usually available except for on the busiest holidays and weekends.
Gambling
Fitzgeralds has a relatively large casino floor by Downtown standards, but only when both floors of gambling are taken into account. As mentioned they have almost a thousand slot machines and 29 table games. They have all of the popular casino games plus Keno, Pai Gow Mania as mentioned and Three-Card Poker. Limits are low on most tables and slots. They have a small Sports Book with 10 televisions.
Rooms
Fitzgeralds has 624 rooms and 14 suites. It is a smaller hotel by both Strip and Downtown standards. The accommodations are clean and roomy, but as mentioned the casino is older and some say “outdated”. Location and the price are two of the biggest benefits of the rooms, and it regularly receives fair reviews.
Price
Downtown usually has excellent rates for everything from the rooms to gambling, food, and shopping by Las Vegas standards, they feature very low limit gambling, most feel the restaurants are priced excellent for the quality food, and room rates are low depending on the season and how busy the hotel is. Often booking ahead will save money on room rates.
Restaurants
Fitzgeralds offers a few options for dining. Don B’s Steakhouse offers an excellent menu and is a Downtown favorite. The Courtyard and Grill Buffet is also very popular. McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme are located inside. Note that Fitzgeralds does not have room service.
Drinks
Cocktail waitresses offer drinks to gamblers free of charge, and tipping is customary. Figzgeralds has three bars total, two on the casino floor and Lucky Lookout Balcony, a popular spot with an excellent view of Fremont Street. Downtown casinos often have one dollar drink specials including well drinks and margaritas. This usually is not casino specific but may vary by casino.
Shopping
Fitzgeralds only has one shop, the Luck Steak Boutique gift shop. It is well-priced and aimed at tourists looking for memorabilia and gifts. They offer some essentials at this shop.
Nightlife
There are no clubs at Fitzgeralds, but all of the bars are open 24/7. Fitzgeralds is lively at all hours, especially on busy weekends, and the Lucky Lookout Balcony is a favorite of party goers. Drinks are served at all bars and throughout the hotel 24/7 and it can be one of the busier Downtown spots.
Services
The services at Fitzgerald are limited and include essentials like room service, luggage, and laundry. They offer easy access to Enterprise Rent-a-Car during the day and have a tour/show desk. While sources do list room service in some instances it should be noted that room service is not offered at this time at Fitzgeralds. They have no shuttle service.
Convention
Fitzgeralds offers no convention space. Conveniently located hotels nearby may have space for conventions and Fitzgeralds is a popular destination for convention goers who are looking for great rates.
Pool
They have a small outdoor pool and Jacuzzi open in the summer months.
Shows
Fitzgeralds has a couple of the most popular shows in the Downtown area including Fitz Laughter with Kevin Burke and Marriage Can Be Murder both in their showroom. In the afternoon they have Live Lounge Entertainment. They are located right on Fremont Street which hosts live entertainment nightly and year round.
Spas
They do not have a spa. A couple of the nearby hotels have spas which may accommodate guests not staying at their hotel. Ask for details. |
