Riviera is perfectly located on the far north end of the Strip as a bridge between the mega resorts south and the old school Vegas atmosphere of the downtown area just a few blocks up the street. You can’t miss it with its star spangled flashy exterior. Riviera is one of the oldest hotels on the Strip and has been entertaining visitors and locals alike for over 50 years. It’s been the setting of some iconic Hollywood hits like “Oceans 11” (the original) and Martin Scorsese’s “Casino.” Though it is an older casino it still attracts a large crowd on a regular basis and is home of Las Vegas’ “sexiest topless review” Crazy Girls.
Though it is old, it is also large and features a giant casino floor and tons of rooms. They have something for everyone from an arcade for younger visitors to a spa, wedding chapel, all kinds of entertainment and a wide range of restaurants. They attract a mixed crowd and as such the casino floor is usually fairly lively. This is an excellent stay for anyone who wants the excitement of the Strip without spending all that money. It should be noted though, don’t expect the elegance of most Strip casinos or the level of service. What they lack in these areas though they more than make up for with a good time.
Due in large part to its location and prices the Riviera is often filled nearly to capacity, especially during summer weekends and busy holidays. They attract a range of people from gamblers to vacationing families to a younger party crowd all depending on the season and any special events being held in Las Vegas. Booking in advance is recommended.\\
They have a very large casino floor at over 100,000 square feet featuring all of the classic casino table games including Craps, Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, and Let It Ride. They also have a plethora of slots including many favorites like Megabucks. Their poker room is usually fairly busy. They have a relatively small Race and Sports Book with 35 flat screen televisions.
Riviera is a large casino, and in fact larger than it looks from the outside with 2075 rooms. The rooms are clean and well kept, but the hotel is generally rated only in the medium range. Riviera is a 3 star hotel and fits that category nicely. Visitors generally come for a good time and only use their room for sleeping, if that’s the goal than Riviera is an excellent choice. If you are looking for more luxury there are better options.
Prices at the Riviera are on the very low side for a Strip hotel casino. In fact it is one of the least expensive places to stay on the Strip. Room rates vary according to the occupancy and the season, but they are usually one of the lowest in the area. Gambling limits are also very low in most instances – though this too can depend on the specific clientele at the time. Dining is a great deal here as well.
They have a few options for dining including Kady’s, The Riv Buffet, Kristofer’s, Queen Victoria’s English Pub, and a food court with different options.
Queen Victoria’s English Pub is a fun option that offers food and drink for a great price. There are bars on the casino floor as well. Cocktails are free for gamblers of course and tipping is customary.
Riviera has a surprising number of shops, and they are well priced for the area as well for the most part. Some popular options include 3 Lions Tattoo, Chocolate Heaven, Islands and Beyond, Just 4 Kids, Pearl Factory, Gifts Plus, Quality Leather and Luggage, Reflections Gifts and More and the ABC Stores.
There is no nightlife in the classic Vegas club sense. Queen Victoria’s English Pub is 24/7 however and quite lively at all hours for a more casual good time, and the casino is almost always boisterous.
Services at the Riviera may be limited by Strip standards. They do however offer all of the services of most hotels like maid service and luggage. They have room service as well which may have specific hours so ask for details. Shuttle service to and from the airport is available for a fee through and outside company.
They have a very large convention area at 160,000 square feet.
They have a small heated pool open to hotel guests.
Riviera has some excellent entertainment including the popular Crazy Girls. Other shows include Riviera Comedy Club Dr. Scott Lewis Outrageous Comedy Hypnotist, and Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show.
Achilles 24 offers a number of services including massage.
