The MGM is the large emerald resort on the corner of Tropicana Ave. and Las
Vegas Blvd, noted for the enormous lion statue in the front, green exterior of
course, and lion habitat just inside. It is also home of Cristophe Salon.
Cristophe is considered an icon in the industry of hair style. He started his
career in Paris, and then moved to Hollywood to do hair for celebrities. Some of
his clients include Liv Tyler, Mariah Carey, Pamela Anderson, and Bill and
Hillary Clinton. Today he has 5 shops in the United States. His location in MGM
Grand opened in 2004. Cristophe Salon inside MGM is located in the back of the
resort and overlooks the pool. Cristophe himself flies to Las Vegas once a month
if you want a haircut from him, and his stylists are all well-vetted if you do
not want to wait for Cristophe himself. All of the salons top colorists fly in
to Vegas from Paris. This salon may be unique in that most of the stylists do no
rely on straightners or chemicals for hair style, just a hair drying and round
brush.
The salon is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Haircuts for men start at $65,
for women $110, manicures are $38 and pedicures are $65. Appointments are
recommended.
